Regional fish farming is bound to very different, individual conditions. This approach is in contrast to an intensive fish farming. The local conditions and the equipment of the aquaculture system (from egg to food fish!) define the essential part of the business efficiency.

The premise: the part of direct marketing, also to pubs and restaurants, should be as high as possible and the delivery to the wholesale as low as possible.

If there is the possibility to sell intermediate stages from the fish farming (e.g. juvenile fish as stocking fish), it increases the efficiency significant. A further possibility is to offer the first processing stages (slaughtered fish and fillets). A contemporary target marketing, tailor-made for the individual conditions, is essential today. Without the new media there is no way forward also in aquaculture. New innovative products can generate a new demand and new markets.
